This artificial collection was begun in 1976 with the acquisition of Connolly's library, which contained some manuscript materials. The correspondence has been arranged alphabetically by correspondent, followed by unidentified correspondence and four groups of letters arranged in the categories of "British painter friends," British poet contemporaries, "Literary friends and acquaintances," and "Requests for permission to quote" as organized by Gascoyne....

Hudson Hawley - Lost Generation papers, 1923-1955

Hawley was managing editor of the Paris Herald for 46 years, during the time it served as a staging platform for Lost Generation writers including Hemingway, Pound, and Gertrude Stein. Correspondence from Hawley to various people, plus the manuscript of The Dizziest Daily.
